5 Star Adults Only Resort

The first travel destination I’d like to discuss is Mexico.  I know that a lot of people are wary of Mexico right now. That’s understandable with reports of violence on the news. However, in my experience, that is pretty well limited to the north of Mexico. There are plenty of southern areas that are both beautiful and safe.

Today’s blog is focused on the town of Playa del Carmen and the resort The Royal. Playa del Carmen is about a 45 minute bus ride from Cancun. It’s not as busy but still has lots to do. Plenty of shopping along 5th Ave with restaurants and clubs to entertain you.

The Royal is situated about a block off of 5th Ave and right on the ocean. From the moment you arrive, this 5 star resort shows off  it’s beauty and comfort. You know that you will be well looked after and enjoy every moment of your visit. As well, this resort, for the second year in a row, has received the International Star Diamond Award for exceeding criteria for facilities, operations and service. It is also to be awarded by the AAHS, the Green Diamond recognition for commitment to ecology and the environment.

It is obvious how well the resort is cared for. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are spacious and clean. Your room is well stocked with water, beer and munchies. It also has a mini bar included. Towels and personal care items are plenty and should you require more, it’s a quick phone call away. The staff are friendly and everyone just wants you to have a good time!  All views are spectacular whether you have a garden view or a pool view or if you’re lucky, an ocean view.

Beautiful Grounds

The food? Well, what can I say, it is exceptional. They have El Mediterraneo: A Mediterranean Specialties restaurant, Asiana, Spice: A buffet restaurant, Pelicanos : Caribbean fusion seafood and various others. My favorite is across the street (and also part of the all inclusive experience), El Pescatore: Italian food. New to The Royal is the scrumptious coffee house. Features various types of coffees and teas and fresh pastries. It even has chocolate dipped strawberries. I can certainly testify to the yumminess of these! If you don’t see what you want on the menu board, just ask. The staff is more than willing to make new coffees.

Enjoy Your Stay!
